Ford’s 2024 F-150: Hybrid Power, 5G Connectivity, and No Extra Cost

Hey there, my tech-loving followers! I’ve got some exciting news for you today. Ford’s 2024 F-150 is here, and it’s packed with some awesome features that won’t cost you extra. Let’s dive in and see what this truck has to offer!

First off, Ford is expanding its hybrid powertrain options for the F-150 lineup. Now, even more trims will have the option for a hybrid engine. But that’s not all. The 2024 model also comes with some cool tech upgrades. You can now opt for a heads-up display, so you can keep an eye on your speed without taking your eyes off the road. And guess what? The F-150 also has a built-in 5G modem that’s up to date with the latest wireless standards. How cool is that?

Now, let’s talk about the price. Previously, if you wanted a hybrid option for your F-150, you had to go for the Lariat trim, which started at $57,480 with an additional $3,300 cost for the hybrid feature. But Ford has made a change for the better. They’re now offering the PowerBoost hybrid option at the same starting price as the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. They haven’t given us all the specifics yet, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

And here’s more good news. The hybrid option is no longer limited to just the higher-end trims. You can now get it at the less expensive XLT trim level as well. Ford is really making sure that everyone can enjoy the benefits of hybrid power.

But let’s not forget about the tech inside the F-150. The new model comes with a 12-inch screen as standard across all models. And here’s something interesting: the F-150 is only the second vehicle from Ford to have a 5G modem option. Previously, it was only available on the SuperDuty pickup trucks. But now, it’s also coming to the next Lincoln Nautilus SUV. Ford is really keeping up with the latest technology trends.

One more thing worth mentioning is that Ford’s OTA (over-the-air) updates can now install updated software automatically if you want them to. And they’ve added a new voice feedback option where customers can quickly report technical problems or just use it as a sounding board. Poor chap at Ford, having to listen to all our complaints!

Now, let’s talk about the F-150’s infotainment system. It’s running on Ford’s latest Sync 4 software and features a 12-inch display. No more squinting at a tiny screen when you’re trying to navigate or check out your media options. And speaking of media, Ford CEO Jim Farley made an interesting connection between the new iPhone 15 and the F-150. He called them America’s two biggest consumer products and linked them like blood brothers. Well, we appreciate your enthusiasm, Farley!

But wait, there’s more! Ford has introduced some additional features that are worth mentioning. They’ve added the Ford Stolen Vehicle Services, a first of its kind for the automaker in North America. It helps locate and recover stolen vehicles with the help of a 24/7 call center and alerts owners to any unauthorized tampering via the FordPass app. Safety first!

And if you’re interested in hands-free driving, Ford is offering a complementary 90-day trial for its BlueCruise driver assistant software. It can steer you within highway lanes and even make lane changes on command. Pretty cool, right? Just keep in mind that the trial is for version 1.2, while the new Mustang Mach-E Rally will launch with the latest version 1.3. More stability and more fun!

And finally, Ford is making its smaller gas-only EcoBoost engine standard on the base offerings. So, if you go for the XL model, you’ll get the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine as standard instead of the 3.3-liter V6 PFDI. It used to be an optional upgrade that cost an extra $1,285. However, keep in mind that the 2024 XL Regular Cab does come with a higher starting price compared to the 2023 base model. So, if you’re looking to save some money, this might not be the best option for you.

And there you have it, my friends! Ford’s 2024 F-150 is here, and it’s bringing some awesome tech and features with it. From hybrid powertrain options to a built-in 5G modem and a heads-up display, this truck is definitely worth considering. So, what do you think? Are
