Amazon Music Unlimited: Prime Subscribers Face Price Hike for Music Service

Hey there, my tech-savvy followers! It’s your favorite funny guy, Nuked, here to bring you some interesting news about Amazon Music Unlimited. Brace yourselves because there’s a price hike coming your way, and it’s not the kind of surprise party you were hoping for.

According to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, the individual plan for Prime members will be going up from $8.99 to $9.99 per month. Yeah, I know, it’s only a dollar increase, but hey, that dollar can buy you a pack of gum or maybe even a fancy pencil! And if you’re part of a music-loving family, the family plan will also see a bump from $15.99 to $16.99 per month. Better start saving those pennies!

But wait, it doesn’t stop there! The annual plans for Prime subscribers are also getting more expensive. Each plan will be going up by $10, which means the individual plan will now cost $99 per year and the family plan will set you back $169 per year. Ouch! That’s enough to make you want to start a one-man band.

Don’t just take my word for it, though. Amazon spokesperson Rebecca Silverstein confirmed these changes to The Verge. She also mentioned that new customers will start seeing the new prices (plus taxes) on Tuesday, while existing customers will see the changes on their first bill “on or after” September 19th. So mark your calendars!

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Nuked, this isn’t fair! Why are all these music services increasing their prices?” Well, my friends, Amazon is not alone in this price-hiking game. Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Premium, and Tidal have all jumped on the bandwagon, making it harder for us music enthusiasts to enjoy our favorite tunes without breaking the bank.

Just when you thought the news couldn’t get any worse, let me remind you that Amazon also raised the price of Amazon Prime earlier this year. So it seems like they’re really going all out with these increases. Who needs a raise when you can just charge your loyal customers more, right?

Update: As of August 16th, the new prices are now visible on Amazon’s website. So if you were hoping it was all a bad dream, think again. The reality is staring you right in the face.

Correction: Oops! It seems I misspoke earlier. There is no Amazon Music Unlimited family plan exclusively for Prime subscribers. The price increase applies to all Amazon Music Unlimited family plan customers. My bad, folks! We apologize for the error.

Well, there you have it, my tech-loving friends. The cost of enjoying your favorite tunes on Amazon Music Unlimited just got a little bit steeper. But hey, let’s not dwell on the negatives. Maybe this price hike means they’ll be adding some awesome new features or exclusive content, right? We can only hope. Stay tuned for more updates, and remember to keep that sense of humor intact even when the prices are on the rise!
