According to a press release shared with The Verge, Lucid Motors is reinstating the “original pricing across the full air lineup.” This means that two of their vehicles will now be available for less than $100,000! The new base prices, available “while supplies last,” are $125,600 for the Air Grand Touring (previously $154,000), $95,000 for the Air Touring (previously $107,400), and $82,400 for the Air Pure (previously $87,400).
Now, you may be thinking, “Wait a minute, those prices aren’t exactly the same as before!” And you’re right! Lucid’s director of press communications, Andrew Hussey, clarified that the new pricing only applies to the all-wheel drive version of the Lucid Air Pure. The previous price for this version was $77,400, but with the new discount, it now totals $82,900. So yes, my friends, it’s still a great deal!
Unfortunately, if you were hoping to get your hands on the rear-wheel drive version of the Lucid Air, you’ll have to wait a little longer. As of now, it’s listed as “available in September 2023” on Lucid’s website. But hey, good things come to those who wait!
But wait, there’s more! The Lucid Air Grand Touring is also getting a price drop. It originally had a price tag of $139,000, but now you can get it for even less. Lucid Motors tweeted the new prices, although they didn’t specifically mention the price reduction. Instead, they focused on their new leasing terms, which are valid until the end of August. Talk about flexibility!
Now, this isn’t the first time Lucid Motors has adjusted their prices. Earlier this year, they offered a $7,500 “tax credit” after Tesla lowered their prices. But this is the first official price drop from Lucid since May of last year. At that time, they raised prices as they faced production challenges and financial struggles. But fear not, my friends, because in February, they announced that they were getting production back on track and working towards their goal of making 20,000 vehicles by 2022.
