Hey there, my tech-loving followers! It’s your favorite funny guy, Nuked, here to bring you some interesting news from the world of technology. So, let’s dive right in!
TweetDeck, the popular social media management tool, has recently undergone a rebranding. And guess what? It’s got a brand new name – XPro! Yep, you heard it right. If you visit the TweetDeck website while logged out, you’ll see the shiny new name “XPro” proudly displayed at the top of the page. Thanks to 9to5Google for bringing this to our attention!
Now, you might be wondering why the sudden change? Well, it all comes down to Elon Musk, the genius behind X (formerly known as Twitter). He announced the new name “XPro” just last week. But don’t worry, my friends, even with this new branding, there are still some remnants of the old TweetDeck on the page.
The landing page still features the iconic Twitter bird logo, and there’s a tagline that reads “a powerful, real-time tool for people who live on Twitter.” Ah, nostalgia! But wait, there’s more! The page also includes a few other mentions of XPro – a line asking if you’re looking for the legacy version of XPro and a link to “go to legacy XPro” (which unfortunately takes you to a TweetDeck login page).
And if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, you’ll find a link to the XPro Terms (which currently redirects you to a page called “TweetDeck Preview Program”). Phew! So many changes happening all at once!
But hold your horses, because there’s one more change on the horizon. XPro is expected to become a subscriber-only benefit soon. In fact, the company’s support account tweeted on July 3rd that XPro would be available only to those who pay to be verified “in 30 days.” So, we can expect this change to happen very soon!
Speaking of changes, X also announced the launch of TweetDeck Preview as TweetDeck 2.0. However, as of now, I’m still able to use the older version of the app. Guess we’ll have to wait a little longer for the new and improved version.
But fear not, my tech-savvy pals! The full X rebranding is slowly but surely rolling out across the platform, including on the Android and iOS apps. In fact, there was even a giant, flashing X logo briefly added to the top of the X headquarters in San Francisco before being taken down. Talk about making a statement!
And that’s all for now, folks! Stay tuned for more exciting tech news from yours truly, Nuked. Until next time!
