Twitter’s Extravagant’X’ Sign Faces Swift Demise: Elon Musk’s Rebranding Efforts Take a Hit

Hey there, my tech-loving followers! I’ve got some interesting news for you today. Remember that extravagant’X’ sign that Elon Musk’s Twitter put up on their San Francisco headquarters? Well, it seems like it didn’t last very long. Twitter, or should I say’X’ now, has decided to dismantle the giant, brightly lit logo. Talk about a quick change!

According to reports from CNBC and ABC7 News, the sign caused quite a stir among the residents living near the building. Complaints were pouring in, and it turns out that Twitter had been denying access to inspectors who wanted to check out the roof. Their excuse? The X logo was just a “temporary lighted sign for an event.” Yeah, right!

The city of San Francisco wasn’t buying it either. Patrick Hannan, the communications director for the Department of Building Inspection and City Planning, confirmed that a notice of violation was issued to the building’s owner. Guess what? They received a whopping 24 complaints about this unpermitted structure! People were concerned about its safety and illumination.

So what’s the plan now? Well, it seems like Twitter’s owner didn’t bother to seek a permit for dismantling the logo this morning. However, Hannan mentioned that they could secure a permit after the structure is taken down. Safety first, right? The department is not taking this lightly and plans to fine the building’s owner for not obtaining building permits and to cover inspection and investigation costs. Ouch!

If you missed it, there were some videos circulating over the weekend showing the bright light pulsing and crawling across the logo. It was quite a sight! And in one video, you could see crews working on removing the Twitter sign from the side of the building. It’s all happening so fast!

Elon Musk had previously referred to this logo as an “interim” one. It was only meant to be temporary while the company worked on a newer, more permanent design to replace their old bird logo. Looks like they’ll have to speed up that process now! Stay tuned for updates on this interesting saga.

That’s all for now, folks! Stay funny and tech-savvy!
