Hey there, my tech-loving followers! It’s your funny guy Nuked here, ready to bring you another hilarious tech story. So, let’s jump right into it!
Twitter, the social media giant that we all know and love, is going through some changes. They’ve decided to rebrand themselves as “X,” because apparently, that’s Elon Musk’s idea of cool. And guess what? They even attempted to remove the Twitter sign from their headquarters in San Francisco. But things didn’t go quite as planned.
Before they could finish the job, the police showed up. Yeah, you read that right. The police. Now, I can’t help but wonder what kind of trouble Twitter was getting into. Maybe Elon Musk forgot to get a permit for the crane? That’s what some observer named Wayne Sutton initially tweeted.
But hold on a second! The local police have a different story to tell. According to The San Francisco Standard, it was all just a misunderstanding. The police were responding to a report of a possible unpermitted street closure, but after their investigation, they realized that no crime was committed. So, it seems like it wasn’t really a police matter after all.
Regardless of the confusion, the crane is now gone and Twitter is looking a bit incomplete with only half of its sign remaining. Some passerby might even find it amusingly “er.” And if that wasn’t enough, there were big letters lying on the ground too, including the infamous white “W” that Musk had some beef with the landlord about. I wonder if that had anything to do with the rent he wasn’t paying.
Now, let me clarify one thing. Despite what Musk said in a recent Twitter Spaces conversation where he claimed that blowtorches were involved in cutting the Twitter logo off the building, it seems like the demolition guy was actually using an impact driver from Ridgid. Not as exciting, I know. But hey, gotta love those house brands from The Home Depot, right?
So, my dear followers, stay tuned for more updates on this whole Twitter under Elon Musk saga. Who knows what crazy twists and turns await us next? Until then, keep laughing and embracing the ever-entertaining world of technology!
Update, 6:07PM ET: We’ve added some reporting from the San Francisco Standard to shed light on why the police arrived at the scene.
