Hello there, my tech-loving followers! With the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event just around the corner, we’ve been getting a lot of leaks and rumors about the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. In this article, I’ll be giving you a rundown of the latest leaks and what we can expect from these foldable phones.
A Twitter leak from Revegnus on July 25th showed a photo of what appears to be the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in a black case that hides most of its design. However, we can see that the phone may have the same 3.4-inch 720 X 748 cover screen as predicted and side-by-side camera lenses, which is a rumored update to its design. The phone seems to fold flat, but it’s hard to tell for sure with the case on. Samsung may use its new droplet-style folding technique for both the Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5, which could reduce the visible crease where the phones fold.
Next up, prolific leaker SnoopyTech gave us sets of leaked renders of both phones in various colors. According to SnoopyTech’s leaked specs, both phones will have upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPUs and thinner chassis compared to their predecessors. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will shrink from 14.2mm to 13.4mm at its thinnest point when folded, while the Z Flip 5 will come in at 15.1mm when folded versus 15.9mm for the previous model.
In terms of camera upgrades, the Fold 5 may have a 12MP telephoto lens, while previous leaks had put its telephoto at 10MP. However, there are no notable differences in other specs such as battery life, Wi-Fi connectivity, and RAM. The colors listed for the Z Flip 5 are Cream, Graphite, Mint, and Lavender, while the Z Fold 5 will come in Icy Blue, Cream, and Phantom Black.
One thing to note is that there are no leaked specs for a 128GB or 1TB model for either phone. While this doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t see those storage levels in the final phones, it’s something to look out for next month.
Overall, it seems like Samsung is sticking to a similar design with minor upgrades for its upcoming foldable phones. We’ll have to wait until the official unveiling to see if there are any surprises in store!
That’s all for now, folks! Stay tuned for more tech news and updates from yours truly, Nuked.
