First things first, the rotating bezel is back! Yes, you heard that right. After a brief hiatus, Samsung has decided to bring back this distinctive and intuitive design feature. And leaked photos from German tech site WinFuture confirm that the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic will both have rotating bezels.
But aside from the bezel, there isn’t too much to get excited about when it comes to the design of these watches. The Galaxy Watch 6 looks similar to its predecessors, the Galaxy Watch 4 and 5. It will reportedly come in 40mm and 44mm sizes with upgraded sapphire crystal displays for durability.
The Watch 6 Classic is a bit bigger at 43mm and 47mm, making it the biggest Samsung smartwatch since the Gear S3. Bigger cases usually mean bigger batteries, so we’re hoping for longer battery life from these watches.
While the designs may not be revolutionary, there are some changes on the horizon for Samsung’s smartwatches. The company recently announced One UI 5 Watch, which will bring new health and fitness features like improved sleep tracking and personalized heart rate zones. And Google’s upcoming Wear OS 4 is rumored to arrive later this year, possibly launching first with the Galaxy Watch 6.
Details about Wear OS 4 are scarce at this time, but Google has promised improved battery life. And it’s rumored that Samsung will feature a new Exynos W930 chip in the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup.
