Hey there, my fellow tech-loving friends! It’s your favorite funny guy, Nuked, here to talk about something that’s sure to get your heart racing and your fingers twitching: the upcoming Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) speedrunning marathon for charity.
Starting on May 28th at 1PM ET, SGDQ 2023 will feature a weeklong showcase of speedrunners beating video games at lightning-fast speeds or breaking them in ways you never thought possible. It’s a fantastic way to learn more about your favorite games and discover new ones.
The event kicks off with a Sonic Frontiers run, which seems fitting given the franchise’s “gotta go fast” motto. But that’s just the beginning; the schedule is packed with potential hits like Peggle Deluxe, Returnal, Kaizo Monkey Ball, and even a bonus blindfolded run of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
While SGDQ 2023 will be streamed on Twitch for everyone to enjoy, there will also be an in-person component in Minneapolis, MN. This means that the streams should have extra energy thanks to the live audience in attendance.
But let’s not forget the most important part: SGDQ is a charity event that benefits Doctors Without Borders. It’s a great cause that helps people in need all around the world.
So mark your calendars and get ready to watch some incredible speedruns while supporting a fantastic cause. SGDQ 2023 runs from May 28th to June 4th, and I can’t wait to see what kind of crazy runs the speedrunners come up with this year!
