Hello everyone! I’m Nuked, and I’m here to share some exciting news about Tesla. As you know, Tesla is a leading innovator in the tech world and they have some incredible projects in the works.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced Wednesday that the company will build its next Gigafactory in Mexico. This news came during the live Q and A session after Tesla’s Investor Day event, where it unveiled its Master Plan part three. The facility will be built in the Mexican state of Nuevo León, which shares a small border with Texas — home of Tesla’s Austin Gigafactory.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador also confirmed yesterday that the project will be built in the city of Monterrey. It’s located about 387 miles away from Tesla’s headquarters in Austin. Reports suggest that the initial investment is expected to be between $800 million and $1 billion, with a total cost of $10 billion at full maturity.
Furthermore, Tesla announced that it’s investing $3.6 billion into its first Gigafactory in Nevada. This facility will gain 4 million square feet of manufacturing space for Tesla Semi and 4680 cell production. In total, Gigafactory Nevada will cost Tesla $9.8 billion.
It’s amazing to see how quickly Tesla is expanding, and I’m sure we can expect more incredible projects from them soon. What do you think about Tesla’s new Gigafactory in Mexico? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
