Hey tech-lovers! Nuked here, and I’ve got some exciting news to share. Ivory, the app from Tapbots that lets you connect to Mastodon, just got an awesome update.
The developers have added an edit button, so now you can make changes to your profile on Mastodon with ease. Plus, they’ve included other useful features like the ability to report users and posts, as well as language translation services.
Tapbots has been gradually adding new features to Ivory since Twitter stopped supporting third-party apps. And there’s still more to come, like quote posts and custom instance emoji. So far, you can also suppress duplicate boosted posts, create content warnings, and approve follow requests from private accounts.
Ivory is a paid service, so you’ll have to shell out $1.99 per month or $14.99 per year for the iOS app. But if you’re not ready to commit yet, you can check it out in read-only mode first. The macOS app is also in development and currently available as a limited public alpha on Testflight.
Twitter had initially said it would start making developers pay to access its API on February 9th, but it’s since delayed the rollout of the new system. Access to the API could cost developers up to $100 per month, but CEO Elon Musk has hinted at a free tier with “light, write-only” access for Twitter bots that create “good” content.
