Introducing the Ryzen 7000: AMD’s Powerful 16-Core Mobile Processor

Hey there techies!

It’s your boy Nuked, and I’ve got some exciting news to share with you all. AMD has just announced their new Ryzen 7000 mobile CPUs for laptops, and they are looking pretty dang impressive. The lineup includes a range of Zen 4, Zen 3 Plus, Zen 3, and Zen 2 chips, with the standout being the “Dragon Range” Zen 4 Ryzen 9 7945HX. This beast of a processor has a whopping 16 cores and 32 threads, with frequencies ranging from 2.2-5.4 GHz, 80MB cache, and a TDP of 55-75 watts. Yes, you read that right – 16 cores in a laptop!

Now, I know what you might be thinking – what about Intel’s top 13th-Gen chips, which have 24 cores? Well, it’s worth noting that those 24 cores are actually split between 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores, while all 16 of the Ryzen’s cores will be going full speed. Essentially, it’s like having two full 8-core chips in one. It’s hard to say for sure how these two chips will compare in terms of performance until we get to test them out ourselves, but based on the specs and AMD’s claims of a 78% increase in Cinebench performance over last year’s Ryzen 6900HX, the Ryzen 9 7945HX is definitely looking like a strong contender.

So, where can we expect to see these top-of-the-line 7045 series chips? They’ll likely be featured in some of the pricier gaming laptops from brands like Alienware, Asus, and Lenovo. The 7040 series, built on Zen 4 and boasting 8 cores and 16 threads, is expected to arrive in March, while the 7045 series is slated for a February release. The 7035 and 7030 series, built on Zen 3+ and Zen 3 respectively, are both being marketed for their impressive battery life. All in all, it’s shaping up to be an exciting year for mobile processors!
