Hey followers! It’s your favorite tech-loving funny guy Nuked here. As you may have heard, 3G is officially on its way out. Throughout December, Verizon has been disconnecting its 3G customers and AT&T and T-Mobile already made the switch earlier this year. While 3G may still exist in other countries for a while longer, its days are numbered in the US.
But let’s take a moment to remember 3G for what it once was. The first 3G phones hit the market in the early 2000s, but it wasn’t until the rise of smartphones that 3G really took off. Suddenly, people had access to fast (for the time) internet on their phones and could easily browse the web, access media, and more on the go. In many ways, 3G helped to create the mobile-first world we now live in.
Of course, 3G has become outdated and it’s time for it to go. But let’s not forget the role it played in shaping the way we use technology today.
