The company behind the World of Warcraft video game has reported that its online service has been attacked

Activision Blizzard said on Twitter that its Battle.net service was suffering from a distributed denial of service attack. A little over an hour later, reported that the attacks it was monitoring have ended.

The @ blizzardcs Twitter account sent the initial tweet at 7:11pm et. The company cautioned that the attack’may result in high latency and disconnections for some players’.

We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We are actively working to mitigate the issue.

The DDoS attacks that we were monitoring have ended. If you are still unable to log in try www/t.co/ny39q2slwo.

Players were having issues with games including Overwatch, world of Warcraft, call of duty, and sin III. Based on user reports on DownDetector, players had issues with game.

Battle.Net experienced DDoS attacks for about an hour in November. That similarly caused problems for players trying to play games games.
