Samsung’s latest smartphone, the Ninte, is the first in the world to be powered by an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen

The Nintendo switch, released last October, may eventually succumb to burn-in. It might take 3,600 hours of constant play on a static screen to begin to see the first signs of the dreaded screen malady.

After five months leaving a Nintendo switch OLED plugged into a charger, he’s only now seen some ghosting. Wulff den also tested at 1,800 hours, and did n’t see much effect back then.

Burn-In is n’t quite the fear it used to be with OLED screens. The technology’s come a long way, both in terms of OLED subpixel longevity and built-in software protections.
