A security researcher who found the vulnerability says the person who runs the bot claims to have the information of 533 million users. Alon gal, who found this vulnerability, says that the user who ran the bot has the data of 533million users.

A user created a telegram bot allowing users to search the database for a low fee, allowing people to find the phone numbers linked to a very large portion of Facebook accounts this has a huge impact on privacy.

Unlocking a piece of information costs $ 20, which the person behind the bot is selling for $ 20. There’s also bulk pricing available, with 10,000 credit for $ 5,000.

The bot has been running since at least January 12, 2021, but the data it provides access to is from 2019. It’s especially embarrassing for Facebook as it collected phone numbers from people who were turning on two-factor authentication.
