The latest news on the wildly popular video game Fortnite is that it’s getting an anime series.

Variety reports that YouTube gaming channel DramaFever will be making the series based on the hit game and the success of the mobile game Battle Royale.

The news comes days after the announcement that Goro Majima, an actor in Nintendo and Square Enix action games, is making a secret Fortnite stream to promote the anime.

Back in July, TheVerge.com reported that “arguably the most successful video game in history,” was being considered for an anime series produced by The Netherlands based development studio Skyfilms.

Fortnite is the most popular free-to-play video game in the world, with almost 20 million daily active users, according to gamer community website PC Gamer.

The game is currently available for iOS, Android, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC. It is also reportedly coming to the new Xbox One console.

According to gamehub.com, Epic Games said: “The game has a passionate community. (with) hundreds of thousands of daily subscribers who follow the eSports realm closely. Naturally, we’re excited that so many have the attention span to listen to the music behind all of their Twitch chats, and we’re grateful for the enormous passion behind the Fortnite creative team’s work.”
